The Azusa Street Revival was a historic Pentecostal revival meeting that took place in Los Angeles, California and is the origin of the Pentecostal movement. It was led by William J. Seymour, an African American preacher. It began with a meeting on April 9, 1906, and continued until roughly 1915.
The revival was characterized by ecstatic spiritual experiences accompanied by miracles, dramatic worship services, and speaking in tongues. The participants were criticized by the secular media and Christian theologians for behaviors considered to be outrageous and unorthodox, especially at THAT time.
Today, the revival is considered by historians to be the primary catalyst for the spread of Pentecostalism in the 20th century.

Our Statement of our Faith Life
Our Statement of our Faith Life:
The Great White Throne Judgment is the final judgment when all the wicked dead will stand before God. Revelation 20:11-15.
The New Heaven and The New Earth will replace the present heaven and earth, which will be destroyed after the Great White Throne Judgment. 2 Peter 3:12-13; Revelation 21:1-3.
Eternal Heaven and Eternal Hell are literal places of final destiny, each as eternal as the other. Matthew 25:41-46; Luke 16:22-28.
Marriage is for Life, a holy institution that is binding before God, giving neither partner liberty to marry again as long as the first companion lives. Mark 10:6-12; Romans 7:1-3.
Restitution is subsequent to salvation, wherein wrongs against our fellowmen are made right in order to have a clear conscience before God and man. Ezekiel 33:15; Matthew 5:23-24.
Water Baptism is by one immersion "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost," as Jesus commanded. Matthew 3:16; 28:19.
The Lord's Supper is an institution ordained by Jesus so that we might remember His death until He returns. Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23,26.
Washing the Disciples' Feet is practiced according to the example and commandment Jesus gave. John 13:14-15.

Baptism of the Holy Ghost

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is the birth of the Spirit (John 3:5). This spiritual baptism is necessary to put someone into the kingdom of God (God's church, the bride of Christ) and is evidenced by speaking in other tongues (other languages) as the Spirit of God give utterance.
It was prophesied by Joel (Joel 2:28-29) and Isaiah (Isaiah 28:11), foretold by John the Baptist (Matthew 3:11), purchased by the blood of Jesus, and promised by Him to His disciples (John 14:26; 15:16). The Holy Ghost was first poured out on the Day of Pentecost upon the Jews (Acts 2:1-4), then upon the Samaritans (Acts 8:17), and later upon the Gentiles (Acts 10:44-46; 19:6). "The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call" (Acts 2:39).
Tongues
Speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance is the manifestation God has given as the definite, indisputable, supernatural witness or sign of the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6).
It was prophesied by the prophet Isaiah as the rest and the refreshing (Isaiah 28:11-12), foretold by Jesus as a sign that would follow believers of the gospel (Mark 16:17), and experienced by Jews and Gentiles alike.
The gift of "divers kinds of tongues," mentioned by Paul in I Corinthians 12:1-12 and concerning which he gave regulations in I Corinthians 14:1-40, is given by both for self-edification (I Corinthians 14:4) and for the edification of the church (I Corinthians 14:27-28).
In church meetings the gift of tongues is used to give a public message, and it is to be interpreted. Since this gift can be misused in public, it needs proper regulation (I Corinthians 14:23-28). Not all believers exercise the gift of tongues, which is different in function from tongues given by God as the initial witness of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Paul said, "Forbid not to speak with tongues" (I Corinthians 14:39) and "I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all" (I Corinthians 14:8). Who dares to teach or preach to the contrary?

The 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit
As it is quite obvious, the Apostolic Faith and church according to the Holy Bible, is really the Pentecostal church’s counterpart in its government and doctrines, although, as used in various denominations Apostolic Pentecostals or Pentecostal Apostolics are united to the first century church in its original doctrines, actions and events; such as Acts the 2nd chapter which is the account of the Baptism or infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, and the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit given in (1st Cor. 12th chpt). However, on the contrary many who are considered to be dispensationalists believes that these divine demonstrations and gifts in the book of Acts were only the contemporaries of the first century church in its infancy and is not relevant to these times.Although, others believe these 9 gifts (The word of knowledge, The word of wisdom, The gift of prophecy, The gift of faith, The gifts of healing, The working of miracles, The discerning of spirits, Different kinds of tongues, The interpretations of tongues) along with the Baptism or infilling of the Holy Spirit has ceased since the completion of the Canon of scriptures, or were only for the Apostles, nevertheless, many who believe are experiencing the same events in their lives as did the first century church. Finally, as we draw to a close, at the heart of the true Apostolic Faith and Church, is The Message of The Cross of Christ; if there's a desire to grow in grace and the knowledge of Christ's Cross, God will take any confessing Christian as far as they are willing to believe in His timeless Truths. Paul says, as he lays down the mandate and message of the New Testament Church in 1Corinthians 1:17; For Christ sent me not to Baptize, but to Preach the Gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of none effect. The Apostle sums it up in verse 23. by saying, but we Preach Christ crucify, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks/Gentiles foolishness. So in short, Paul is saying every thing we need, is in the Cross, not only our Salvation but also our Sanctification, Justification and Redemption.
